“Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, to catch Him in His words. When they had come, they said to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and care about no one; for You do not regard the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see it. ” So they brought it. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at Him.”
Mark 12:13-17 NKJV
This is talking about paying taxes but is also about giving God what is His
Pastor Sharon explained that this is our house and that is true, Amanda spoke the week before about being blessed when tithing faithfully
I believe that Pastors and fathers of the house should be looked after as well as the house being looked after.
A church should care for its senior pastor in four ways: financial support, accountability, respect, and submission of the congregation to the Word of God.
Financial Support. A church should care for its senior pastor financially. Jesus set the example by accepting financial support from people during His ministry in
Luke 8:1-3 NKJV
Where people who had been healed and delivered from demons gave from their substance
That folks is this house and this man right here
And I’m not saying this because I want to be paid…. I don’t. I’m comfortable with who I am in God and who He has called me to be.
Five fold ministry. We all want to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers,
And we all want the nine spiritual gifts, Words of Knowledge, Words of Wisdom, The Gift of Prophecy, The Gift of Faith, The Gifts of Healings, The Working of Miracles, Discerning of Spirits, Different Kinds of Tongues, and The Interpretation of Tongues.
But my question to everyone here is this
If God asked you to pray for someone would you do it?
If He asked you to lay hands on someone for healing would you do it?
If He asked you to cast out demons would you do it?
Would you be obedient to what God asks?
This is what The Pastors here do everyday of the week, especially our senior Pastor who has laid down 17 years of his life to get to this point.
So why if we want to be obedient to what God wants and we would do everything else He asks of us can’t we give what is Gods to God?
Everything we have was given to us by Him and if we are called to give our first fruits. I would suggest the first 10% is Gods anyway.
So I’m challenging you. What is God asking you to give? Think about that, you may have come today with a particular amount in mind but really think about it, is that amount what God wants you to give or is it what you want to give? As the buckets come around pray about it and be obedient to what God says in Jesus name.
